Automatic Ball Trap is a fast-paced discipline where shooters stand in a line across five shooting positions and take turns shooting at single targets launched from a single oscillating trap house positioned in front of them.
Targets are thrown at varying angles, heights, and speeds, requiring quick reactions and consistent gun control. Competitors shoot at 25 targets per round, rotating through the five stands after each shot.
ABT is popular with shooters of all experience levels as it combines the precision of trap shooting with a slightly less demanding target presentation than Olympic Trap. It provides an excellent stepping stone into the wider trap disciplines.
